Our appreciation to outgoing board members Karen Loyd and Ryan Sells

Please join us in providing a warm welcome to new Caring For Colorado board members, Anne Garcia and Kraig Burleson. We are honored by the generosity of their time, the deep passion they bring for our work, and the wisdom of their years of experience in health equity and foundation operations.

Their board terms begin following eight years of service on our board by Karen Loyd of Wray, Colo., and Ryan Sells of Highlands Ranch, Colo. Their dedication to the mission and operations of the Foundation have made it possible not only to weather the pandemic and organizational transitions, but to evolve and advance our grantmaking efforts to create equity in health, well-being and opportunity for children and families statewide. We are so grateful to Karen and Ryan for their unwavering commitment and steadfast leadership.

Kraig Burleson

For the past 20+ years, Kraig has served as CEO of Inner City Health Center with a focus on reducing inequities to health and health care for un- and under-insured people in the metro Denver region. Kraig also serves on numerous boards and committees and as Pastor of the Loving Saints Christian Fellowship in Denver.

“It is an incredible honor to contribute to an organization that has proven they genuinely care for the well-being of people across Colorado. They do an exemplary job of tapping into the pulse of communities and being responsive to needs. At this critical time, when people are so divided and stressed, it really excites me to be a part of this foundation that serves as a change agent in enhancing the quality of life for people statewide.”

Anne Garcia

Anne is a financial professional with more than 40 years’ experience, most recently serving as chief financial and operating officer for Rose Community Foundation from 2002 until her retirement in 2019. Anne continues to be active in the community serving on several boards and committees.

“It’s an exciting time to join the Caring for Colorado board … the Foundation is taking the time and putting in the effort to listen and authentically partner with local community members and organizations. Their principles and evolving approach really resonate with me. I’m excited to help move their strong goals of creating equity in health and opportunity for Colorado children and families to fruition.”
