Pueblo Youth Action Council Fundraising for Grant Program
The Pueblo Youth Action Council was established by Caring for Colorado’s Packard Fund for Pueblo in 2021 to promote community engagement and leadership among local youth. The Pueblo Youth Action Council provides opportunities for high school youth to learn about leadership, community service, fundraising, and philanthropy. Students participate in a community assessment and learning process, then fundraise and award grants to local nonprofit organizations addressing the issues identified in their stewardship activities.
Fundraising efforts are managed by our staff in Pueblo through a collaboration with Hope Online Learning Academy High School, a non-profit, public charter school, and YouthRoots, a national youth philanthropy organization. This year, the HOPE high school students involved in the Pueblo Youth Action Council have decided to focus on mental health, poverty, and homelessness. All community funds raised by students in the coming weeks will go directly to nonprofits working to address these issues. Visit the fundraising page to donate to the Pueblo Youth Action Council’s 2024 campaign.
