Announcing Funding for Pueblo’s Children, Youth, and Families

Caring for Colorado’s place-based priority, Caring for Pueblo County, works to elevate the power of people and place to create equity in health, well-being, and opportunity for Pueblo County’s children, youth, and their families.

The Children, Youth, and Families funding opportunity is made possible by the Sperry S. and Ella Graber’s Packard Fund for Pueblo (Packard Fund) endowment. This funding opportunity is designed to be flexible, leverage community assets, and support grantee partners as they work to improve conditions for children, youth, and their families. Grant decisions will be made in alignment with the advisory board’s grantmaking guiding principles.

Our Approach

Guided by local youth and community insight, we understand that children, youth, and their families will experience greater health and well-being if they have equitable access to essential services and support systems. We believe all children, youth, and their families deserve to experience:

  • Equitable access to services and supports that help meet basic needs, including safety, nutrition, housing, and transportation.
  • The chance to cultivate a strong sense of identity, develop supportive and nurturing relationships, and fully engage in opportunities that build connections and community engagement.
  • Optimal behavioral health.
  • Economic stability and advancement, with the ability to access quality education and employment.

To advance these efforts, Caring for Colorado will invest at least $740,000 in 2025 through our Packard Fund’s Children, Youth, and Families funding opportunity in four areas: Basic Needs, Social and Emotional Well-Being, Behavioral Health, and Economic Stability and Advancement.
