Our Staff

Caryn Apodaca

Place-Based Philanthropy Coordinator

Caryn was born and raised in Pueblo and a proud alumna of Pueblo School District 60 and Colorado College, where she majored in history. She still believes that knowing one another’s stories and understanding how we got here can go a long way to helping us solve current issues.

After more than 20 enjoyable years working in public radio fundraising in Denver, Caryn was excited and grateful for the opportunity to return to Pueblo for her current position as the place-based philanthropy coordinator for Caring for Colorado. She enjoys helping applicants and grantees with the online application process and looks forward to learning more about their missions and stories.

As part of a big extended family (with 35 first cousins), Caryn values all of Pueblo’s community assets, especially its culture, its deep roots and its green chile!
