Linda Reiner serves as president and CEO of Caring for Colorado, a private foundation working to create equity in health, well-being, and opportunity for Colorado’s children and families. In this role, she works with a statewide board of directors and staff to strengthen partnerships and resources to improve policies, environments, and systems for children furthest from opportunity. With a focus on the healthy development and well-being of Colorado’s children and youth, Linda and the Caring for Colorado team strive for a state in which every child has love, stability, support, and opportunity.
Linda joined Caring for Colorado in 2001 to develop a new health foundation in Colorado and create a statewide grantmaking program. She also developed and led several collaborative funding initiatives, including Advancing Colorado’s Mental Health Care, Cavity Free at Three, and the SMILES Dental Project. Linda assumed the role of president and CEO of Caring for Colorado in 2020. Before working at Caring for Colorado, she spent eight years as the director of planning, information, and education and as a health planner at Tri-County Health Department in Englewood, Colorado. She also worked as an assistant project director at Illinois Primary Health Care Association, working with community health centers in Chicago to increase access to health services for people experiencing barriers to care.
Linda holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Colorado College. Her previous board service includes the Jefferson County Board of Health, the Colorado Health Institute, and the Colorado College Public Interest Fellows Program. Linda also chaired a community board for the senior oral health program at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.
Linda is a mother of two young-adult children and is a proud fifth-generation Coloradan. She is passionate about eliminating inequities in health, well-being, and opportunity for Colorado kids and is working to make Colorado the best place in the nation to raise a child.
Linda’s favorite place in Colorado is her backyard during the summer, where she loves to bring people together to share a meal and conversation.
