Rikki grew up in Colorado, having moved to Thornton from Idaho when she was just 6 months old. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2013. After interning with a nonprofit in college, Rikki realized the immediate impact that local organizations could have on their communities and knew that was where she wanted to focus her work.
Rikki joined Caring for Colorado as the executive assistant and board liaison in November 2021. In this role, she provides administrative and project management to the executive leadership team and board of directors, ensuring high-quality record-keeping, administrative practices, and internal/external customer service. Previously, she worked in the mental health nonprofit and government sectors in a variety of operational and executive support roles.
When Rikki is not at work, you can usually find her reading a good mystery novel, cooking up something delicious in her tiny kitchen, or binge-watching reality TV shows with her husband, Dustin, and their pug, Ernie.
As a teen, Rikki loved hanging out at the movie theater or roller-skating rink.
Her favorite teacher was her AP Literature teacher, Mr. Morrow, who taught with a lot of humor and gave creative assignments.
“To inspire hope, I would tell my younger self that I am not a burden, that it’s OK to ask for help when I need it, and that I am good enough. My younger self would probably roll her eyes, but it’s the truth!”
