As a Philanthropy Lead for Caring for Colorado’s Youth, Health and Well-being funding priority, Stephanie supports community-based organizations and policy advocacy organizations across the state, as well as the Vice President of Philanthropy.
Before joining Caring for Colorado, Stephanie was the policy and partnerships manager for the Colorado Children’s Campaign, where she led and supported several policy areas and coalition work focused on education, housing, family economic security, and healthy eating/active living issues. Previously, she was the mental health coach during program days for the Colorado Youth Congress. She found her passion for working to improve systems as a teacher and public policy fellow at the Women’s Foundation of Colorado. Before diving into the policy world, Stephanie worked as a middle and high school math teacher and as a patient advocate.
Stephanie has volunteered as a member of the Giving Project through the Chinook Fund and as a board member of the Downtown Denver Expeditionary School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida International University.
She is passionate about her community, belonging, and spirituality. Outside of work, Stephanie, her partner, their daughter, and their dog enjoy exploring all things Colorado on bike or foot, including their incredibly diverse and beautiful neighborhood.
Stephanie’s favorite place in Colorado is Telluride. She believes it’s absolutely stunning and incredibly easy to get around.
“I grew up in a home with two immigrant parents who arrived in the U.S. at very young ages. They taught me what it meant to be a good neighbor and to be curious about and kind to people who had different customs and traditions than ours. I learned at a really young age about the beauty of diversity — specifically that people pray, celebrate, and mourn in very different ways.”
