As Caring for Colorado’s controller, Rachel Galvan supports the accounting and finance functions, including financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and maintaining adequate internal controls. She is also responsible for performing key accounting streams such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliation, and journal entries.
Rachel’s career spans more than 20 years and began as an auditor at KPMG in Houston, Texas. She then transitioned to a corporate treasury for a large public software company. After relocating to Denver in 2008, she continued to work part-time for various small businesses when her kids were young. Most recently, she was a fractional accounting manager at Ascent CFO Solutions.
Rachel holds a Master of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Texas A&M University. She is a certified CPA and serves as treasurer on the Northfield High School Foundation board.
Outside of work, Rachel enjoys watching her kids on the soccer field, yoga, walking with a friend on a beautiful Colorado day, baking, reading, and exploring new restaurants with her husband.

Rachel’s favorite books as a teen were the Sweet Valley High series and anything written by Judy Blume.
Rachel’s favorite place in Colorado is Steamboat Springs.
