Winter 2020 – New Application Process, Grant Awards

NEW! Two-Part Application Process

During 2020, both of our statewide, responsive grant cycles resulted in more applications than ever before, far exceeding our capacity to fund. We understand how much work you put into completing the application and how critical funding is to your work and the lives of the children, youth and families you serve.

After much consideration, we’ve divided our application into two parts. Part 1 requests basic information about the proposal and includes seven questions that will help our philanthropy team assess alignment with our grantmaking guiding principles and our focus areas.

We will communicate decisions about applicants moving forward to Part 2 and applicants being declined within three weeks of the Part 1 deadline. Only applicants moving through to the full review process will be required to submit a full CFC grant application.

If you’ve applied previously, we know this is a significant departure. We encourage all applicants – new and previous – to attend our upcoming webinar and/or information sessions. During these sessions, you will have time to ask questions about our guiding principles, focus areas and the two-part application process.

We hope the result is a process that is more accessible and responsive to our nonprofit partners.
