Registered Nurse, Wray
A part-time wound-care specialist at the Wray Community District Hospital in Colorado’s northeastern plains, Loyd is familiar with the culture and challenges of rural health care. As an original board member of the Wray Community Child Care Center and the Yuma County Head Start Health Advisory Committee and a trustee for the Kitzmiller-Bales Trust and the Powell Trust, she is experienced in providing guidance and perspective for nonprofit organizations. Ms. Loyd also has participated in a number of community projects and fundraisers including Play-Creators, the Yuma County Family Center Project and Baby Bear Hugs. She is an active volunteer at the Wray Senior Community Center and the WRAC Kid-Phit program. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Arizona State University. Born in Weatherford, Texas, Ms. Loyd has been married to Robert Loyd, MD, a general surgeon, for 27 years. Together, they have three grown children and two grandchildren.
