Choose When
One’s ability to decide if and when to start a family is directly tied to overall health and well-being. We are working to ensure that everyone who wants contraception is able to access it, in a method of their choice, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Choose When is an initiative of Caring for Colorado working to bring all contraception methods within financial reach of people throughout Colorado. By providing grants to safety net clinics in Colorado, we can off-set the cost of contraceptives for uninsured and underinsured individuals.
Contraception, especially long-acting methods, can cost more than $1,000. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, this cost presents a very large, often insurmountable, financial barrier.
Choose When relies on the generosity of people who want to help someone with these barriers realize their hopes and dreams for their future, by supporting access to contraception.
Choose When Update
Caring for Colorado’s 2024 Choose When Update provides an overview of our first year efforts to expand the regional program statewide. We provide insight into our goals for Choose When and the history of how the program started. We discuss how we provided $600,000 in grant awards to 24 clinics and safety net organizations, our lessons learned, and what we will do next.
